Lydia Margaret Elizabeth (Dickinson) Musselman, Vernon

HISTORY OF LOGAN COUNTY, OHIO - LEWIS DICKINSON, farmer; P. O., Ridge way; is a native of Logan Co., born Nov. 20, 1827; he has twice been married, his first marriage occurring on March 4, 1852; by this union there were six children : Joshua N., Delilah A., Lydia M., Henry E., St. Leger and Mary C. By his second marriage he has three children: Minnie, Ella and Robert. Mr. Dickinson is a farmer by pursuit and one of the sons of honest toil and industry. In theernment fort, Mount Vernon, Knox Co., where his mother, an elder child, and others, had taken refuge during difficulty with the Indians. At same time his father (William Hatcher) was engaged in the force endeavoring to subdue them; his parents were natives of Virginia, and came to Ohio, locating in his native county in 1811. His grandfather (Isaac raising of stock his attention is more particularly directed to that of sheep, but includes ward, and purchased about 1,000 acres near the usual stock of all well-to-do agriculturists. He is a member of the Protestant faith with his family; this induced William Methodist Church, Ridgeway Circuit.

In 1860 Logan County, Ohio, Lydia Dickinson is 4, with Lewis 32 and Mary 33.
Siblings are Joshua N. 7,. Delila 6, and Henry 2.
Mary might be the one buried in Good Hope Cemetery, Logan County, also dying in 1864 at age 37. # 26706688. Orpha died in 1864, aged 13 days, and is in the same cemetery # 26706691.
In 1870 Lewis and Betty have Joshua 17, Delila 16, Lydia A. 15, Henry E. 13, Leger 9, Hary G. 5, Elly F. 3, and Robert three months.
( In 1889 Atchison Kansas, Leger's son Cecil Otto Dickinson was born) - Leger is married to Francier Dickenson in 1900 Pawnee County, Oklahoma) In 1870 Logan County, Ohio, there's a William Musselman, 17, working on a farm for Levi Dunson, 40 and his wife M.C. 37.
William S. Musselman married Maggie Dickinson Oct 25, 1874 in Logan County, Ohio.

In 1880 Logan County, Ohio, William S. Musselman and Lyda M. are both 23, farming, with Lewis 4 and Henry M. four months.
Lewis S. Musselman, age 4, died August 5, 1880 in Rush Creek Township, Logan County, Ohio.

She must be the Lydia Musselman in 1900 Glendale precinct, Yuma County, born August 1856 in Ohio, widowed, two kids of four still living. Henry M. January 1880 Ohio, and Harry W. Oct 1890 Ohio.
Lydia M. Musselman proved up a quarter in 31, 1S 44W in 1907. That's only a couple of miles southwest of Vernon.
1907 "Robert Dickson Sr., of Vernon, went to Denver last week and was married there to Mrs. Musselman, a former resident of Vernon. They arrived in Wray Wednesday."
Margaret is widowed in 1920 Vernon, 64, born in Ohio.
She's still living alone in 1930 Vernon.

Margaret Musselman married Robert Dickson July 20, 1907, recorded in Denver. Robert 1835-1908 is buried in Glendale #@ 58129582.

F.A. Greatsinger married Lizzie Dickson Feb 24, 1910, recorded in Yuma County. So in the space of a couple of years F.A. and "Lizzie" lost their spouses and decided to marry.
In 1910 Lansing precinct, Francis is 62, Margaret L. 52, born in Ohio, his second marriage, her third.

1922 Mrs. Margaret Greatsinger left last Saturday for her new home at Pocatello, Idaho."

Elsie 1836-1907 # 81621402 and Francis 1850-1911 # 81621454 are buried in Wray.

Henry married Mary Emma Theuer Nov 25, 1903 in St. Francis, Kansas.
Henry Madison Musselman is in Vernon precinct in 1910, 30, married to Mary 26 born in Texas, with Irene, 6, born in Texas. 1911 "Harry Musselman and wife and Mack Musselman and wife took in the show at Wray last Saturday night and they report a fine time."
1912 "Wm. H. Musselman, the young man who used to own the butcher shop at Vernon, has put in a skating rink in the room just south of H.A. Knongener's store. It was opened to the public last evening."
Henry M. Musselman was appointed the Vernon postmaster January 26, 1911.
In 1915 "Miss Irene Musselman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Madison Musselman" was the winner of an essay contest "Susie Irene Musselman, Winner"
1916 "Harry Musselman, Vernon's butcher and Mack Musselman, postmaster, were transacting business in Wray Saturday."

In 1916 "H.M. Musselman is the owner of a new Maxwell."
1917 "Mack Musselman made a flying trip to Denver last week with Ed. Belzer, to buy the latter a car."
1917 "Mrs. Margaret Greatsinger sold her Vernon residence property last week to Wilbur Stevens. She contemplates moving to Wray to live. Fifteen hundred dollars, we understand, was the consideration. "
1917 "Miss Blanche Kellar is spending this week with Miss Margaret Greatsinger, of Vernon."

1917 "Mack Musselman has sold his Vernon residence property to his mother Mrs. Margaret Greatsinger; hee also disposed of his household goods and will move his family to Denver next week."
Henry Madison Musselman registered with a Vernon address, born January 2, 1880, a barber, wife Mary E. Musselman.
This article was in the 1920 Eckley Tribune, but likely was referring to Vernon -

Henry is a barber in 1920 Vernon, and Mary is the assistant postmistress, Erene S. is 15, and Ethel E. Barber, schoolteacher, is boarding with them, 21, born in Kansas.
"Tales of Tailholt" - a history of Severance, Colorado, says after 1920 Mack Musselman was one of the barbers in Severance. Frank Owens had run a combination barber shop and pool hall in 1921, and then sold it to Mack Musselman and Frank Wells.br>The H.M. Musselman probate in Weld County is 1925 is probably him.
F.W. Owens had boought a lot on the west side of Severance and sold it to H. M. Musselman with in a year. Susie and then Mary Musselman were the next owners, and in 1931 sold it to Ross Vaughn.
H. Mack Musselman 1880-1925 # 106291087 is buried in Denver Riverside, with Mary E. 1885-1973 # 106291049.
In 1930 Denver Mary is widowed, working as a "servant", in perhaps a hospital or nursing home. In 1940 she's a nurse in Denver, saying she was in Gilcrest Colorado in 1935.
March 1973 Greeley "MUSSELMAN
Mrs. Mary E. Musselman, a resident of Birch Avenue Manor for the past year, died there, Monday, March 19, at the age of 87. She was born in Temple, Tex., Oct. 23, 1885, and came to Colorado in 1889. She worked as a practical nurse in Denver for many years, and was a member of the Methodist Church in Denver. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Frieda Herzik of Schulenburg, Tex. A daughter, Mrs. Albert Mallory, preceded her in death. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, at Riverside Cemetery in Denver. Macy Allnutt Mortuary is in charge of arrangements."

WILLIAM MUSSELMAN - another possibility

A descendant of Jefferson Carroll Brumley wrote " Louisa Brumley in Utah, County Marriages is listed as Helen Louise Healy and her parents as Beyetta Grebles and Geo. H. Burritt. George Burritt was Beyetta's second husband. (I think JC Brumley was a jerk, based on mentions of him in the Colorado papers and the fact that he was in Folsom Prison in California in 1911!) Helen Louise's birthday on this document IS before her mom's marriage to her second husband, though AND there is mention of a daughter when she was still Mrs. Brumley in the Colorado papers."

WILLIAM HARRISON MUSSELMAN - another possibility

William Harrison Musselman registered for the WWII draft in Pocatello born Oct 2w3, 1890 in "Ballefouintani" Ohio.
Possibly the William H. Musselman, a commercial sign painter in 1930 Pocatello, Idaho, 39, born in Ohio, first married at 19. Erma R. 34, born in Nebraska was 21 at her first marriage, so this might be a second one for both.
William Musselman married Louise Brumley in POCATELLO , ID, daughter of Jefferson Carroll Brumley and Beyetta Louise Grebles. Louise Sisil was born on 9-26-1903 and that she died on 2-0-1987 in the State of Washington; and that the last known address was in zip code 95831.Her SS #549 72 2763.Louise was the daughter of Beyetta Louise Grebles, the sister of Fred and George Grebles.A note in my file indicates that Beyetta Louise Grebles married J. Carroll Brumley in May, 1902; and that she later married George H. Burritt and lived in Pocatello, ID where she died 11-25-1934. On August 3, 1996, Roy Grebles, in Phoenix, called Darrell Sisil, in Aurora, CO, to enquire if he knew Louise Sisil and Darrell said that indeed he did know Louise Sisil who was married to his uncle, Paul Sisil,and that prior to marrying Paul Sisil shewas married to a Bill Musselman who was in the neon sign business and that Bill Musselman died in Pocatello. Before marrying Paul Sisil Louise had moved to Riverside, CA. She was shown as a survivor niece of George Grebles who died August 3, 1948; andher name was Louise Musselman. After 1948 she married Paul Sisil and bought 12 acres of land in Riverside, CA, and turned it into a stable and track as Paul Sisil was in the race track business.In January 1953 she was listed in the obituary of Fred Grebles (George's brother) as a surviving niece under the name of Louise Sisil.Darrell Sisil said that after Paul and Louise sold the ranch in Riverside she and Paul travelled the race track circuit for about a year and that they had a horse trailer and van.They thenup to Grass Valley, Rough and Ready and Penn Valley; and that was where they were living when Darrell's uncle, Paul, passed away in October, 1976. After Paul died when she was 73 years of age she went to live with theC harles Megliocky (sic) family.This man was a jockey for Paul and Louise in Riverside.

In 1940 William H. Musselman is managing an advertising company in Pocatello, 49, married to Louise B. 36 Colorado.
William H. Musselman, born Oct 23, 1890 in Belfontaine, Ohio, died May 7, 1946 in Pocatello. Father was William H., mother Margaret Di"Diskson"
He's buried in Mountain View, Pocatello, # 43130438.

MALLORY
James Harvey Mallory registered in Eckley, born June 20, 1874, a farmer, with Eda Belle Marllory nearest relative.
In 1920 Eckley, James is farming, with I. Belle 44, Thomas 20, Winona 19, Albert E. 16, and Harvey 12.

James 1874-1963 and Ida Belle 1875-1948 are buried in Greeley # 65227827.
The Susie Irene Musselman who married Albert E. Mallory May 23, 1926, recorded in Adams County, might be their daughter.
In 1919 Wynona Mallory of Eckley was a teacher at the Harmony school.
Albert was in Eckley in 1920, - and a Mallory of Eckley placed in the Yuma County high school track meet - and in 1930 Weld County he's 26, born in Nebraska, married to Irene, 26 born in Texas, both teachers.

October 1936 " Mrs. Irene Mallory, 32 years old, wife of Albert Mallory, died at her home in Gilcrest Friday night. Mrs. Mallory was stricken with broncial pneumonia a year and a half ago and never recovered from the effects of the illness. Mrs. Mallory was very, well known in the Eaton district where Mr. Mallory was principal of the Columbine school for nine years. She is survived by her husband and by her mother, Mrs. Mary E. Musselman of, Gilcrest. Funeral services have been tentatively set for 2:30 Monday afternoon at Olinger's in Denver."
Irene Mallory 1904-1935 buried in Denver # 106291275 is the Yuma County one. May 1938 "Miss Thelma McCully, whose marriage to Albert Mallory of Denver has been announced for June at Santa Fe, was honored at a party Tuesday evening in the home of Miss Gillian Buchanan, with Mrs. : J. .Frank Potts, Dr. Louise Boilin, Mrs. Donald MacKay and Miss Buchanan hostesses. ... . Miss McCully has been a member of the Junior College faculty during the past year and previous to this time has served Roosevelt county as rural school supervisor for several years. Mr. Mallory is connected with the Child Craft book agency. "
Albert E. is a salesman in Portales, New Mexico in 1940, married to Thelma M. 35 born in Colorado. He was in Greeley in 1935, and she was in Roswell, New Mexico.

Merle Lucille Campbell, born June 23, 1897 in Nebraska City, to James Mallory and Belle Burgess, married Frank Campbell. They're in Yuma County in 1920, Frank 24, Merle L. 22, with Lucille 2.
In 1930 Morgan County, Frank is 34, Merle L. 33, Lucile F. 12, Doris M. 10, Margie C. 7, and Donald J. 3.
In 1940 Weld County they have Marjorie 17 and Donald 14.
Merle died August 11, 1982, buried Linn Grove # 65217095. Frank Campbell died April 28, 1980. # 65217096
1953 Greeley "Donald J. Campbell, who has taught at Eaton and Ault and has his A.B. degree from CSCE, will have mechanical drawing and tclence at Greeley high.
